The heatless adsorption dryer and the micro-heat regenerative dryer are two common drying equipment, each of which has its own characteristics and advantages. Let us take a look at it today.

 

1. Heatless adsorption dryer: The heatless adsorption dryer is to change the operating conditions to make adsorption under pressure, regeneration under normal pressure or under vacuum, the working cycle is only 5-10min, the device is small and simple to manufacture

 

2. The consumption of regeneration gas is large; the double-tower heatless regeneration dryer is due to its large volume, and the required desorption energy comes from the product gas. Therefore, the regeneration gas consumption is large, the general gas consumption is 15%, and the modular heatless regeneration The dryer adopts a modular structure, which is small in size and light in weight, and the regeneration gas consumption is relatively small. The general air consumption is about 5%. The dryer is based on the principle of pressure swing adsorption and regeneration cycle, using self-heating (no external heat source is required) for adsorption drying. Compressed air flows alternately through two adsorption towers. When one of the adsorption towers is at a high partial pressure (working pressure), the desiccant absorbs a large amount of water, while the other adsorption tower is led by the regeneration gas pipeline to the dry low pressure The gas analyzes the moisture absorbed by the desiccant.

 

Advantages: simple structure and easy maintenance;

 

Disadvantages: large gas consumption, high energy grade, small effective gas supply, and sometimes the dew point is not stable enough.

 

2. Micro-heat regeneration dryer: On the basis of heat-free regeneration, the micro-heat regeneration dryer appropriately heats the regeneration gas and raises the regeneration temperature to reduce the regeneration gas consumption. The device has low regeneration consumption and is economical it is good. This micro-heat regenerative dryer is divided into an internal micro-heating regenerative type and an external micro-heating regenerative type dryer by placing the heater inside and outside the dryer. In the internal micro-heating regenerative dryer, the heater is placed in the dryer, and the energy of the heater can be fully used to dry the adsorbent. The regeneration gas consumption is generally about 5%. The dryer combines the advantages of pressure swing adsorption and temperature swing adsorption, adsorption (working) at normal temperature and high steam partial pressure; analysis (regeneration) at higher temperature and low steam partial pressure, that is, the moisture adsorbed by the adsorbent during the adsorption process In the regeneration process, it can be completely eliminated by the combined action of the thermal diffusion of high-quality regeneration gas (heated by dry air) and low partial pressure.

 

Advantages: long working period and stable dew point of gas supply;

 

Disadvantages: Energy consumption is still too large, not only consumes 7% of compressed air, but also consumes a certain amount of electrical energy.

 

Heatless adsorption dryer are simple and reliable method to remove moisture and impurities from compressed air. The outlet pressure dew point from -40 °C to as low as -70 °C. Compressed air flows alternately through twin towers filled with desiccant,It provide continuous dry air and regenerating the desiccant media through it's dry air, minimal maintenance is required.
