Introduction of factors that affect the drying efficiency of Adsorption dryers

Release time:2021-03-16 13:35:49 Clicks:706

The Adsorption dryer adopts the principle of pressure swing adsorption to dry and purify the compressed air, and the pressure dew point can generally reach below -40°C. But after the equipment runs for a period of time, the drying efficiency is greatly reduced. What are the factors that affect its drying efficiency?
  1. Incorrect selection
Many companies have high requirements for compressed air quality, but use refrigerated dryers and double-tower Adsorption dryers to dry compressed air. The quality of compressed air is measured by the moisture content in the compressed air, that is, the pressure dew point and the pressure dew point. It can only reach 10°C, which cannot meet the quality requirements of industrial production for compressed air, but due to incorrect selection, the drying effect will not be too good.
  2. The intake temperature of compressed air is too high
This equipment is sensitive to the intake air temperature of compressed air. It needs to be around 35°C to reach the predetermined pressure dew point. Check the cooling effect of the rear cooler of the air compressor to make the intake air temperature ≤45°C.
  3. Uneven airflow distribution
Because the intake pipe of the suction dryer is much smaller in diameter than the adsorption cylinder. Under the combined effect of the initial pressure and speed of the compressed air, the airflow often passes through the packing in the container in a convergent state, and the gas distribution is not balanced. There will be a considerable part of the filler that cannot be fully utilized, and a dead angle of adsorption will be formed. Uneven air distribution will greatly reduce the utilization rate of the adsorbent.
  4. The drying effect of desiccant is not good
With the passage of time, the desiccant is used for a long time, the desiccant is slowly pulverized, especially the tunnel effect of the desiccant, which is even more unfavorable to the adsorption of the adsorbent. At this time, it is necessary to replace the desiccant in time. In view of the tunnel effect, the core dryer adopts the structure of air inlet and outlet buffer chambers to form upper and lower convection, rationally distribute the air source, and eliminate the dead angle of adsorption. A series of shortcomings such as uneven air distribution, easy pulverization of adsorbent, and tunnel effect are improved.
The gas to be processed by the Adsorption dryer is often saturated compressed gas, and the normal inlet temperature is 2-40°C. When the intake air temperature is too high (under the same flow and pressure), the adsorbed water will increase greatly. The water-carrying capacity of saturated air is directly proportional to the temperature. When the air temperature rises by 13°C, the saturated water content in the air is approximately doubled. That is, the intake air temperature has a great influence on the equipment during machine selection.
Hope the above content can help you better understand this equipment.
